Toronto Arts Council
Toronto Arts Council (TAC) has been supporting artists and arts
organizations for 31 years. In 2005, we awarded just under $9 million
to 429 Toronto organizations and 206 individual artists.
TAC is an independent body governed by a 29-member, volunteer
Board of Directors. A majority of directors are working artists.
Grants are adjudicated at arms-length from government using a peer
review system that is widely admired for fairness, transparency
and efficiency. |
Toronto Arts Council Foundation
Toronto Arts Council Foundation was established in 1995 as a sister
organization to Toronto Arts Council. The Foundation is committed
to addressing Toronto’s overwhelming arts funding shortfall
through receiving and maintaining funds, providing grant support
to Toronto Arts Council and undertaking arts awareness and communication
activities.
TACF is governed by a Board of 9 Directors, of whom the majority
are also directors on the Board of TAC. |

the development, accessibility and excellence of the arts in Toronto.
Toronto Arts Council (TAC) offers grants programs to the city’s

through the City of Toronto, invest in a broad range of activities
from individual creation and small start-up projects to some of
Canada’s largest and most renowned arts institutions. |
mission
Toronto Arts Council Foundation is a registered Canadian charity
representing all artists, arts organizations and arts disciplines
active in the City of Toronto. Through its programming and activities
it speaks out for artists and arts in Toronto and raises funds to
allocate to TAC’s grants program.
