GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS

In 2005, TAC offered grants to individual artists in each of the following four categories: writers, choreographers, music creators/composers, and visual/media artists. Each program has individual criteria and its own deadline.

Grants to Writers:
Grants to Writers provides support to Toronto writers working in the genres of fiction, literary non-fiction, poetry, and stage and radio plays. Writing projects funded through this program have resulted in the publication of books of fiction, non-fiction and poetry, the production of theatre and radio plays, performance or recording of dub poetry and other oral tradition work and the publication of short stories, articles and poems in a variety of periodicals and anthologies.

Grants to Choreographers:
Grants to Choreographers supports the creation and performance of new dance works, with an emphasis on support to independent choreographers. Choreography projects funded through this program have resulted in productions, performances and tours.

Grants to Music Creators and Composers:
Grants to Music Creators and Composers provides support to composers working in any genre of music for the creation of new works. Composing projects funded through this program have resulted in performances, premieres and broadcasts of new work and many of the works are recorded.
Grants to Visual and Media Artists:
Grants to Visual and Media Artists provides support to artists working in a range of media from traditional visual approaches in painting, drawing and sculpture to those in film, video and new technology. Visual and media arts projects funded through this program have aided in the creation of works presented in exhibitions, installations, festivals, screenings, performances and television broadcasts.
