GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS AND COLLECTIVES
Annual Activity and Project Grants

Toronto Arts Council receives applications for funding from arts organizations across the City. Both professional and community-based not-for-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Organizations may apply for funding under either the Project or Annual Activity programs.

Within the Annual Activity funding stream it is anticipated that groups will return each year for funding. Annual activity grant application deadlines fall once per year in February or March, depending on the arts discipline. In 2005, TAC received 231 applications for annual activity funding and awarded 231 grants (although not all for the full amount of the request).

Project grant applications are received twice each year (in February/March and again in August) for each arts discipline. In 2005, TAC received 1,422 applications for project funding and awarded grants to 638 of these.

Appeals are available to any organization denied a grant or to any annual activity grant recipient receiving a cut in their annual grant. Appeals are made directly to the adjudicating committee.
