A list of Ontario and Toronto-based organizations that can further assist artists and organizations with grant applications, administrative, or capacity-building initiatives.

 

ArtReach Toronto 

A program designed to support arts initiatives that engage youth in under-served areas of Toronto. In addition to its funding program, ArtReach Toronto provides capacity building initiatives for artists including grant writing support, mentorship, and free monthly workshops. CADAC (Canadian Arts Data)

Provides a simplified process for arts organizations applying for operating grants. www.cadac.ca

 

Canadian Artists’ Representation CARFAC Ontario

A professional association serving the needs of visual artists in Ontario. CARFAC offers services and resources (including publications and workshops) to assist emerging and established artists with legal rights, setting prices, and more. www.carfacontario.ca

 

Choirs Ontario 

Fosters a vibrant and inclusive choral community by providing resources and creating opportunities. Members have access to education tools, an extensive music library, online discussion forums for administrative and artistic inquiries, and more. www.choirsontario.org

 

Dance Umbrella of Ontario (DUO)

A not-for-profit provider of management services to Ontario’s dance enterprises. Services include accounting, artistic/business planning, production administration and support, communication services, career consultation, arts grant development, review and filing, board administration and facilitation, budget analysis, and fund-raising planning. www.danceumbrella.net

 

Generator (formerly STAF)

Provides administrative support for theatre artists. Services include assistance with marketing and publicity, grant writing, financial and general administrative assistance. www.theatreadmin.com

 

Neighbourhood Arts Network

The network acts as a catalyst for new discussions and relationships, facilitates capacity building and professional development, collects research and shares information, and facilitates a shared vision around the place of arts in community development. Activities of the Network include the interactive website with member profiles, events and projects, in-person networking and professional development events, promotional materials, advocacy, shared resources, research, and on-going partnerships with social service agencies, city departments, libraries and more. www.neighbourhoodartsnetwork.org

 

Ontario Arts Council

Supports training and mentorship opportunities that advance the work and careers of individual artists and arts professionals. Visit their ‘Skills and Careers’ page. www.arts.on.ca

 

Ontario Disability Support Program

If you have a disability and need help with your living expenses, you may be eligible for the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP). Please refer to the ODSP & Arts Grants brochure for information about reporting your arts grant to ODSP to help ensure your funds are assessed fairly. Arts grants are exempt as both income and assets for people on the Ontario Disability Support Program and Ontario Works.

 

SpaceFinder Toronto

A free online venue finder. Arts organizations are able to showcase venues they have available for rent, and renters can easily search for the space they need. toronto.spacefinder.org
